In 2025, the music community lost
two of its soul superstars, Angie Stone
& D’Angelo. To pay them tribute, the Sankofa family put together a vibrant live show drawing from its pool of incredible performers. In fact, since 2006, the Sankofa Soul Contest has become the country’s reference for any Soul and RnB singer. A unique platform showcasing and nurturing some of our scene’s most acclaimed contemporary artists, the contest ran by Joby Smith and David Smite has also become a regular first step for TV programs such as The Voice and Nouvelle Star.
