Samba, Boogie, Brazilian Legend

Thursday 17th
& Friday 18th August - 9PM

From Samba and Bossa to Psychedelic MPB & beach boogie, Marcos Valle is one of the most important composers, arrangers, writers and performers in Brazil’s musical history. Not many artists can boast a 6-decade long career as stylistically varied as Marcos. The renaissance man of Brazilian pop has worked with Leon Ware, Sarah Vaughan, and Chicago; seen his music sampled by Jay Z, Kanye West, Madlib, and Kaytranada; had his songs recorded by the likes of Frank Sinatra, Bebel Gilberto, composed the bossa classics ’Samba de Verao’, ‘Los Grilos’ before switching to the funk sound of the 80s with the classic beach boogie theme ‘Estrelar’. An honor is an understatement – we are over the moon to have Marcos gracing our stage for his 80th birthday!
